Help support the continued development of NorthStarDb.

NorthStarDb 2 is free to download and use. BUT it is a FileMaker template and NorthStarDb requires a current copy of FileMaker Pro to work. Unfortunately we cannot give that away for free.

Spread the word. NorthStarDb is of no use if it is not used. The future continued development of NorthStarDB will, in part, be contingent on the level of adoption. Word of mouth is the best advertising. If you download and use NorthStarDb and like what you see let others know.

Why donate? The actual programming time, software and hardware expenses incurred in developing NorthStarDb are substantial. Software is never “done”. As you know, software, hardware, users expectation, and needs continuously evolve and change. To keep up with that continuous change requires continuous development. Your donations are used for ongoing development, to pay for hosting of the NorthStardb website, to advertise on other websites and to purchase equipment and software needed to continue development of NorthStarDb.

How much should you give? Donations can range from a few dollars to a hundreds. NorthStarDb is in general used by non-profit organizations. Non-Profits range from very small and unfunded to very large and well funded. The important thing for you or your organization to give something if you can. Consider an annual donation.

Is NorthStarDB a non-profit? NorthStarDb is not currently a 501-C3. It is at present a project of Clif Graves Consulting. We are exploring options for NorthStarDb becoming a non-profit.

What is the long-term plan regarding the funding of NorthStarDb? NorthStarDb fills a gap between the large number of expensive commercial constituent and fundraising database offerings and the home grown do-it-yourself database. Our goal to make NorthStarDb  sustainable project so that NorthStarDb is well maintained, and kept up-to-date for the long haul.
