NorthStarDb .94.1 and later has a revised login and password system which is changed from the previous releases. This new system allows quite good security and improved login and user related features.

WARNING: the FileMaker login and security system may be so good that if you change the built in user/password combinations and forget what you changed them to, nether you nor the NorthStarDb developers may be able to get into the database!

But don't panic, with reasonable care and under normal use, this is not a problem.

When you first startNorthStarDb you may see the unlicensed user login dialog. (This "nag" dialog is no longer used in the 1.0 version.)

If you already have your NorthStarDb license ID you can enter it here or can enter it later in the Setup area.

If you are evaluating NorthStarDb, you should choose Continue Evaluation to setup and use NorthStarDb. Once you successfully register your license ID, you will no longer see this screen but will go directly to the login dialog.

If it is the first time you are using NorthStarDb you will be to the setup assistant screens to walk you through the initial setup of NorthStarDb.

If you have already setup your NorthStarDb you will be taken to the login dialog.
